New Update in December 2024

Behind the scenes, we’re keeping busy! We’re working on tons of new features for Talkie that will be available in December 2024! Unfortunately, the update is a bit delayed, as we initially promised it over the summer. But the app is getting some really exciting new features that make it even more convenient for everyday use!
New Features for 2024
#1 Sort Tiles on the Soundboard
The soundboard has a lot of tiles, but naturally, you’ll want to organize them by color and topic. With this update, you can easily drag tiles into any order you want.
#2 Talkie Stories
A brand-new feature is Talkie Stories. It’s similar to Stories on Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, but local on your device with a caption that describes the photo or video and can be spoken aloud. This is perfect for sharing something at a birthday party, like your vacation or a pet story. No more scrolling through separate photos in your gallery—just a pre-set story ready to go in no time. Great even if you have difficulty speaking.
#3 Tile Interaction
Currently, a tile says what you need it to, but sometimes, you may want to attach a Spotify song or YouTube video to it, making it easy to access a favorite song or video. You can also link directly to a website.
#4 AI Magic Button
The AI Magic Button, marked with a familiar magic wand icon for AI, helps correct sentences with typos or spelling mistakes. With ChatGPT support, you can turn a mistyped sentence into a polished one. It’s the perfect solution for quickly making sure your message is clear, reducing the stress of finding the right words on the spot.
#5 Camera: Magnifying Glass + Image Recognition
The camera app now has a multifunctional purpose. You can use it as a magnifying glass to read packaging that might be hard to see. Plus, by tapping the camera button, you can ask ChatGPT what’s in the photo, which will appear as caption text and be spoken aloud.
#6 Available in Polish, Ukrainian, and Arabic
Talkie is widely used by refugees and those with protected status. To make things easier for this group, Talkie will be available in Polish, Ukrainian, and Arabic.
#7 Easier Voice Selection
The current list of voices can make finding the right voice challenging. This update makes the list much more user-friendly, displaying voices in a clearer way by language.
